About the Big 12
After Texas's departure to the SEC, the Big 12 has become a free-for-all. BYU, Baylor and TCU lead a deep field with Arizona State, Kansas, Iowa State and Colorado all fighting for tournament position.
Big 12 play runs late September through late November with a 16-match double round-robin format. Travel is wide-ranging, from Provo to Orlando.

Championship history
Texas left in 2024, but the Big 12 still boasts deep championship pedigree at BYU and a renewed push from Baylor and TCU. The conference has produced multiple Sweet 16 teams every season since 2018.
Top rivalries
Baylor–TCU is the in-state Texas rivalry that defines the conference. BYU–Kansas has become an unexpected top-25 staple.
