Editorial independence
VolleyTrack is editorially independent. No university, conference, agency, advertiser, sponsor or affiliate partner has ever influenced our coverage, our rankings, our schedule data or which players we feature. Editors do not accept gifts, paid travel, or hospitality from programs we cover. Display advertising (Google AdSense) and Amazon Associates affiliate links never affect editorial decisions — see our disclaimer for the full commercial picture.
Sourcing standards
Every schedule, roster, result and ranking on VolleyTrack comes from a primary source. Schedules originate from official university athletic websites and are cross-checked against conference media sites. Rankings mirror the weekly AVCA Coaches Poll. Scores come from official school release or NCAA.com. When we cite a stat or quote, we link to the source so readers can verify it themselves. See our full sources & methodology page.
Fact-checking process
Every schedule and roster page is reviewed against the school's official athletics site before it is published. During the season (August through December) we re-check schedules weekly to catch time changes, venue changes, network changes and cancellations. Rankings pages are updated within 24 hours of the AVCA poll release every Monday during the season. Long-form articles are read by a second editor before publishing and reviewed every six months for accuracy and link rot.
Original content
We do not republish press releases. All previews, profiles, rules guides and TV explainers on VolleyTrack are written from scratch by our editorial team. We may quote short passages from official statements with attribution, but we never pass off another publication's reporting as our own.
Corrections
We correct factual errors quickly and visibly. If you spot one, see our corrections policy for how to report it and how we document the fix. Material corrections to articles are noted with a dated correction line at the bottom of the page.
AI usage policy
AI tools may assist with formatting, proofreading, generating hero artwork and drafting non-editorial copy such as boilerplate. All factual content — schedules, rankings, scores, player names, coach details, dates, venues and TV networks — is researched, written and verified by humans. AI is never used to fabricate quotes, invent statistics, manufacture sources, or write entire articles. AI-generated images are clearly stylistic illustrations, not depictions of real players, coaches or matches.
Author bylines and editorial review
Long-form articles carry the author's name and the date the page was last reviewed. Routine updates (a schedule change, a roster correction) are made silently. When an article makes a substantive editorial argument — a ranking, a prediction, a player ranking — a second editor reviews it before publication.
Conflicts of interest
No editor, writer or contributor is employed by, paid by, or has a financial relationship with any university athletic department, agent, NIL collective or player covered on this site. If a contributor has a personal connection to a program (alumnus, former player, family) it is disclosed at the top of any article they write about that program.
Anonymous sources
We use anonymous sources only when a source has direct knowledge, would face real professional consequences for being named, and the information is corroborated by a second source. Anonymous claims are clearly labelled and limited to factual reporting, not opinion.
